Northern were back to nearly full strength for this fixture with only four players from the previous week’s game against Morpeth in the team. Northern made a good start into the wind when the ball was moved left for wing Dan Tiffin to outpace the defence and score an unconverted try on 4 minutes. Northern started the half with a try from the kick off when Jon Irving carved through the Bishop defence to score a fine solo try that was converted on 46 minutes by centre Chris Raffo. Andrew Scott made a fine run on 50 minutes for a try converted by Chris Raffo to extend the lead and on 57 minutes Northern passed the 50 point mark with another fine solo effort from Jon Irving that was again converted by Chris Raffo. Northern were playing some controlled rugby at this point and the ball was moved right with some slick passing for right wing James Pattison to out-pace the defence for a try converted by Chris Raffo on 62 minutes. Scrum half Tommy Williams got onto the scoresheet with some smart play on 67 minutes when he exploited a gap inside his opposite number from a scrum to touch down under the posts. The conversion was good from Chris Raffo. A crisp pass from number 8 Lawrence Annis set James Pattison away for his second try of the game converted by Chris Raffo on 69 minutes. The final score of the game when Tommy Williams chased his own kick ahead to beat the defenders to the touch down on 74 minutes.
