The physicality of the Pocklington pack and the direct running of their backs finally put paid to a Northern side who for 55 minutes controlled the game.
A try by Dom Fawcett, converted by Paddy fisher, in the first 2 minutes was an ideal start followed by another try from Kieran Dannatt after a catch and drive from a lineout after 20 minutes.
Pocklington replied with a penalty on a rare occasion they were in the Northern 25 and this started a Pocklington resurgence with two quick tries and one conversion to take them into the lead. Just on half time a Pocklington player was yellow carded for foul play and the resulting penalty from Paddy Fisher took the score to 15 all at half time.
Northern totally dominated the opening 20 minutes of the second half and from a lineout penalty the pack fought their way over the line for a try by Pat Power.
Following this score Pocklington suddenly dominated all phases of the game and quickly scored four tries, two of which were converted, and finished deserved winners."
